AP with write-back to the landscape
Invoices and slips enter Abstra, rules validate, and posting goes to SAP (B1, S/4, or via CPI). Whatever does not match stays in a queue with an owner.
Abstra + SAPAbstra captures, validates, and prepares the posting. Write-back goes into the SAP you already use: ECC, S/4HANA, Business One, or CPI. Exceptions go to a queue with an owner, with an audit trail.

Teams running Abstra with SAP

Abstra is the AI automation platform for finance, integrated with SAP. It connects what sits outside the ERP (email, bank, spreadsheet, portals) and posts the result back to ECC, S/4HANA, Business One, or CPI, with an audit trail.
Abstra links SAP to banks, city halls, tax portals, and other systems the team already uses. Posting stays in the ERP; capture and rules run connected.
Banks · City halls and tax · Other systems
Abstra has professionals with SAP certification on the team. Flow, landscape access, and write-back are designed by people who already work with ECC, S/4HANA, Business One, or CPI. The pilot needs fewer round-trips and reaches a stable first posting faster.
Landscape quality
The right connector, service user, and environment from the pilot on.
Delivery speed
Less back-and-forth between finance and IT to unlock write-back.
Operation with a trail
Exceptions with an owner and history ready for close and audit.
Abstra captures the document, applies rules, opens an exception with an owner, and writes back to SAP. The same design repeats on the landscape you already use.
01
Invoices, slips, statements, card charges, or travel files arrive via email, API, spreadsheet, or connector.
02
Rules for PO, vendor, cost center, tax, and duplicates. Anything off-pattern becomes a queue with an owner.
03
Posting into SAP via the landscape connector, with a preview when the process needs it.
04
History of what posted, what stopped, and who approved. Ready for close and internal control.
Beyond document intake: cash, close, reconciliation, and managerial orchestration on the SAP landscape.
Invoices and slips enter Abstra, rules validate, and posting goes to SAP (B1, S/4, or via CPI). Whatever does not match stays in a queue with an owner.
Cards, travel, and SAP open items match by rule. Mismatches become a queue; clearing posts back to the ERP with history.
Balances and movements from several banks meet SAP actuals. Treasury gets one view and reviews only exceptions.
ERP, spreadsheets, and cost centers meet in one console. The team tracks variance without building management close by hand.
Three common paths when finance needs to integrate SAP. The choice changes who runs the flow, where rules live, and how audit shows up day to day.
| Criterion | Abstra | Generic iPaaS | Native / custom in SAP |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who operates it | Finance with support from our specialist team | IT / integration | IT / ERP partner |
| Autonomy and customization | Team customizes flows and builds dashboards with AI, without an IT queue | Changes almost always become a technical project | Depends on custom work or a partner |
| Process focus | AP, reconciliation, cash, owned exceptions | Move data between systems; little ready-made for finance | Transactions and config inside the ERP |
| Write-back to SAP | Yes, via the landscape connector | Only if someone builds and maintains the connector | Native in the landscape |
| Outside the ERP | Email, bank, spreadsheet, portals, and invoices | Doesn’t always cover what finance needs day to day | Limited to what SAP and the partner cover |
| Audit trail | Flow, exception, and approval history | Technical integration logs | ERP / custom logs |
| Best when | You want to connect finance end to end, quickly and securely | You only need to move messages between systems | The rule already lives only inside SAP |
If the goal is to connect finance end to end to SAP - capture, rules, exceptions, and posting - with autonomy for the team to customize and build dashboards with AI, Abstra is the most direct path. Generic iPaaS usually stops at data transport; native/custom fits when the rule already lives only inside the ERP.
The finance process is the same. The connector changes with the landscape. Pick the path that matches your environment.

Business One via OData / Service Layer
Used when the ERP is SAP Business One. Abstra reads and writes via OData on the Service Layer: partners, orders, invoices, and journal entries, with a preview before write-back.

S/4HANA Cloud or on-prem via OData
Direct path when S/4 exposes OData APIs (Basic Auth or OAuth2). Fits AP, clearing, orders, and master data without a bus in the middle.

Integration Suite / Cloud Integration
When IT already centralizes integrations on Cloud Integration / Integration Suite. Abstra calls iFlows over HTTP and joins the pipeline the company already governs.
The main path is to connect. Abstra automates what sits outside the ERP and posts the result back to SAP, which remains the system of record. At some customers, processes that no longer need to live in the ERP start running on Abstra — without forcing a SAP rip-and-replace.
In enterprise accounts access usually starts in DEV or a pilot, with a least-privilege service user, scope limited to the agreed flow, and VPN when the landscape requires it. Expansion then follows IT change control.
Yes. AP and invoice capture are usually the first win. Once that base is stable, the same design scales to cash, reconciliation, and close on SAP.
A generic iPaaS is usually data transport between systems, with IT in the driver’s seat, and doesn’t always cover what finance needs day to day. Abstra is the finance automation platform: rules, owned exceptions, SAP write-back, and autonomy for the team to customize flows and dashboards with AI — with support from our specialist team.
This page shows what finance gains in the process. The connector pages hold the technical API, auth, and field detail so IT can go deeper.
The default is API or a structured file. RPA only enters when the landscape has no other door and the operational risk is clear for finance and IT.
It depends on the landscape and the first process, but the typical design starts with a narrow flow (for example AP) in a pilot environment, with a limited service user. The goal is a stable write-back and an operable exception queue.
